Request a Commission Consult

Steps in the Commission Process

Step One:  Denise completes commissions in pastel, graphite or charcoal. Contact Denise to discuss the concept of the artwork, size and subject matter desired. Subject matter may include landscape, waterscape, pet or people portraits. Denise will advise on the most appropriate medium for the artwork depending on the subject matter. After discussion to determine your desires for the artwork, an estimated cost will be provided based on size of artwork required. Pricing does not include framing, delivery or crating and shipping, but these can be arranged at an additional cost.

Step Two: Most commissions are based on client reference photos of a place, person, pet or item with special meaning to the client. Reference photos should be clear and with sufficient detail depending on subject matter. Your photos can be sent to Denise to review for suitability.

Step Three: After Denise reviews your images, a quote will be forwarded to the client with final price for the commission and estimated turn around time. Sketches may be included in the quote to specify cropping and/or layout of the artwork. Once accepted by the client, a 30% deposit is required and the commission will be put in the queue.

Step Four: As the artwork evolves, Denise will share progress photos with the client.

Step Five: The client will be notified upon completion of the painting so framing can be discussed and delivery or pick up can be arranged. Balance of payment is due upon completion and acceptance by client.

I look forward to discussing our commission ideas!
