Biography


Denise Nonomura is a signature member of Pastel Artists of Canada, and an award winning pastel artist living in Stratford, Ontario. She attended Sheridan College of Arts and Design, where she graduated with high honors from  Fine Arts Certificate Program.​ 


Denise can be found pursuing her passion for pastel painting whether en plein air on the trails and county roads around Stratford, or painting in studio from photographs of her travels.


Her works are representational and depict seascapes, landscapes, still life and sometimes people enjoying our natural environment. In her work Denise captures the light and mood in unique settings utilizing various pastel techniques to present to the viewer a scene with wonderful colour and atmosphere. 


The desired finish to her work is obtained by utilizing various substrates such as sanded or non-sanded surfaces. The application technique chosen for each piece is also dictated by her desired outcome.    


Denise has attained her signature status (PAC) from the Pastel Artists of Canada
